Physician discomfort with end-of-life conversations has resulted in an epidemic of unwanted care that costs payors and health systems over $100 billion annually in avoidable health costs. Currently, most providers avoid these conversations—also called advance care planning (ACP)—until a patient gets critically ill, resulting in poor patient and family satisfaction, unwanted healthcare utilization, and uncontrolled costs at the end-of-life. We then seamlessly generate and share high-quality legal documents, all while simultaneously driving value for providers and health systems by helping them meet important quality metrics, capitalize on reimbursement opportunities, and provide patients the right care.
 
Koda Health was launched out of the prestigious Texas Medical Center Biodesign Fellowship in 2020. We’ve since received support and investment from the world’s largest payor through the Techstars UnitedHealthcare accelerator, a Phase I $256K grant from the NSF in 2021 and have attracted an advisory board of C-suite executives from leading payor and provider systems who are passionate about our mission.
