AARP Innovation Labs discovers and supports the most promising startups tackling our most pressing issues as we age.  We are committed to identifying companies whose products and services amplify AARP’s impact in health security, financial resiliency, and personal fulfilment.  We do this by providing hands-on leadership for a robust portfolio of early-stage startups in the rapidly growing AgeTech sector. Each year AARP Innovation Labs collaborates with community partners to host pitch competitions to identify the smartest founders doing excellent work.  Startups from these competitions qualify to participate in the AARP Innovation Labs’ program that acts as an accelerator and incubator, supporting founders through a full-cycle process.

Early-stage startups invited into AARP Innovation Labs’ program experience hands-on mentorship during each cohort. Every startup is assigned a dedicated Portfolio Manager who works with them to tackle the specific challenges they are facing or goals they are trying to reach. Surrounded by a team with years of experience building and creating disruptive solutions, startups gain rapid insight into the 50+ market and can tap into a breadth of resources like consumer insight tools, subject matter expertise, unique cohort-only events, business case development and more – all customized to meet the startup’s goals and help them succeed.  

After completing the AARP Innovation Labs accelerator program, startups are invited to join  AgeTech Collaborative™.  The AgeTech Collaborative™ is a growing community platform crafted by the Labs as a home for startups and other businesses interested in being a part of the AgeTech ecosystem. This platform will spotlight AgeTech solutions while also providing connections to industry experts, forward-thinking investors, creative testbeds and enterprises looking to address society’s most pressing issues as we age.
