Ipsos & the HLTH Foundation launch new Techquity insights and an industry benchmarking initiative

In recent years, the healthcare industry has witnessed a significant increase in its adoption of digital tools and technologies, and there is no doubt that technology will play an increasing role in healthcare moving forward. However, while the promise of health technology is high –carrying with it an opportunity to revolutionize the healthcare industry –this shift also carries the risk of unintentionally perpetuating long-standing inequities among underserved, marginalized, and vulnerable populations. While not new, the issue of technology-related health equity in the US healthcare system –or “techquity” –is now urgent.

In this Spotlight, Alexis Anderson, a Principal at Ipsos Healthcare Advisory, introduces findings from recent Techquity research conducted in partnership with the HLTH Foundation. In addition to outputs from this research, which include an industry-level insights report, “The Path to Techquity”, as well as a patient-focused ethnography video, Ipsos & the HLTH Foundation are excited to announce the launch of an industry-wide benchmarking survey which is intended to support the development of new industry guidelines and development of best practices for achieving techquity and monitoring progress over time.
